We are seeking a CDC (Cable Distribution Center) Manager to lead and manage our warehouse facility in Houston, TX. You will join an Operations Team that is key to the ultimate customer experience at DWC requiring execution at the highest level. This individual must be a dynamic manager who consistently pays attention to details and processes, yet can be flexible and manage through change. Willing to work alongside a small team, when needed, the manager is focused on maximizing the skillsets of personnel while executing on standards around order fulfillment, distribution center effectiveness, inventory accuracy and personnel management. The ideal candidate for this position possesses a combination of relevant experience, exceptional leadership skills, strong work ethic, adaptability, and a passion for achieving organizational goals. 

What you will be doing:

  • Plan, coordinate, and monitor warehouse operations: Oversee the receipt, order assembly, and dispatch of wire and cable to ensure efficient workflow.
  • Provide excellent customer service: Ensure all customer interactions are handled professionally, maintaining a high level of satisfaction.
  • Foster a culture of Zero Harm: Prioritize safety in all operations, promoting and enforcing health and safety policies to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy: Maintain precise records of inventory and product deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment.
  • Implement and enforce policies and processes: Establish, refine, and monitor procedures to improve operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Provide leadership to the operations team: Offer clear direction, leadership, and motivation to drive team performance and operational success.
  • Assess and develop talent: Evaluate the skills and performance of direct reports, providing development opportunities and supporting their professional growth.
  • Motivate and build teamwork: Foster a collaborative environment to maximize team performance and achieve company goals.
  • Hire, train, and manage personnel: Lead the recruitment, training, development, and discipline of warehouse staff to build a strong, capable team.
  • Manage supplies and equipment: Ensure the location is properly stocked and maintained with the necessary equipment and supplies for smooth operations.
  • Vendor management: Organize and maintain effective relationships with vendors to secure timely and cost-effective supplies and services.
  • Budget management: Understand and manage the facility's budget, ensuring alignment with financial goals and cost-effectiveness.
  • Promote company culture: Lead by example, embodying company values and promoting a positive, inclusive culture throughout the organization.
  • Facilitate effective communication: Maintain open lines of communication with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and address any issues proactively.
  • Drive productivity and profitability: Operate with urgency, optimizing workflow to enhance productivity while maximizing profitability.
  • Champion continuous improvement: Encourage and lead initiatives that promote ongoing improvements to processes, productivity, and team development.

Requirements

  • 3+ years  of experience in a distribution center and production management role with experience in shipping, receiving, inventory, order fulfillment and freight management
  • Track record of building strong teams and developing others
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and management skills
  • Strong ability to develop relationships both internally and externally
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively 
  • Proven ability to make decisions and delegate
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with a heightened attention for detail
  • Highly developed organization skills with a proven ability to work in high stress situations
  • Must exhibit urgency and a commitment to superior service levels
  • Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills 
  • Comfortable with google suite and various software applications
  • P&L Management 
  • Bilingual speaking preferred
  • Ability to lift, carry and maneuver heavy material or equipment (up to 100 lbs.)
  • Ability to work in a position that requires prolonged standing, frequent bending, stooping, twisting and reaching
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen

Salary Range: $80,000 - $95,000 based on degree of experience
