Junior Buyer

The Junior Buyer at DWC reports to the Purchasing Manager, and is responsible for all buying and inventory management. The Junior Buyer will work closely with our suppliers to ensure optimal stock levels, competitive pricing and timely deliveries, contributing directly to our growth objectives. This individual will allow us to improve our procurement efficiency, and will manage inventory levels to maintain optimization supporting sales and operations.
What you will be doing:
- Manage inventory levels for core items and issue purchase orders using procurement systems.
- Forecast inventory needs based on market conditions and sales trends.
- Monitor supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Generate reports to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Collaborate with Inventory Control and Operations to prevent overbuying, reduce waste, and support cycle counts.+
- Manage consignment inventory and coordinate internal inventory transfers.
- Purchase operational supplies and foster strong vendor relationships.
- Support annual physical inventory counts and continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements:
- 1 - 3 years in purchasing, operations, or a related field preferred.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Experience with an ERP or Warehouse Management System required, Acumatica or NETSTOCK is highly preferred.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and able to quickly learn new software.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and effective at managing supplier relationships.
Physical Requirements
- Occasional domestic and international travel (up to 20%.)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull 25 pounds, occasional bending and reaching.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.
Salary Range: $52,000 - $65,000 based on degree of experience
